Shihāb al-Dīn al-Qarāfī [d. 1285 CE] – “[Jesus] was entreated [and persistently asked] concerning the [the timing] of the Day of Judgement, and he responded stating, ‘I don’t know… and no one knows [not even the angels in heaven], but Allaah alone knows.”
al-Qarāfī then continues, “[Considering the claims of the Christians] if *’The Son’ and ‘the Father’ were truly of one essence, and one entity, then verily ‘the Son’ would be acquainted with the knowledge of ‘the Father.’ – would you then attribute omniscience [perfect knowledge] to Jesus, and then overlook the fact that Jesus [peace be upon him] was merely human and wasn’t all knowing?
al-Qarāfī, “If it is plausible to suggest and assert that the second god is merely an extract from the first god, then the assertion would tacitly infer extraction of a third god from the second, and a fourth from the third, ad infinitum i.e without a specified limit.. but this is all fallacious; an erroneous (deviant) belief [posited by the Christians] – and it was Jesus himself who stated that the **most important commandment is ‘Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one.'”
