al-Fuḍayl ibn ‘Iyāḍ [d. 187 AH] said, “The greatest liar is one who persistently returns to their sin [after vowing to never go back]…”

al-Fuḍayl ibn ‘Iyāḍ said, “The greatest liar is one who persistently returns to their sin [after vowing to never go back], the most ignorant is the one who is reliant upon their virtuous deeds [believing they have enough] the one most conscious of Allaah ﷻ is the one who fears Him the most. Never will an ‘abd [slave of Allaah ﷻ] be complete until they prioritise their dīn [religion] over their desires, and they will not be ruined until they prioritise their desires over their dīn [religion].
